

Frank A. Lofaso, 94, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 in a local care center. He was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven, was a life member of the American Legion Post 0001 and a member of the VFW Post 2130. He retired from Cities Service. He was an avid fisherman, as well as an excellent machinist not only as his trade but as his way of life. He was a union representative for the Machinist’s Local to benefit his fellow employees. Frank was very proud of his service to his country, having served in the Army and Army Reserve prior to World War 2. Soon after Pearl Harbor, Frank enlisted in the Navy and served in the Pacific until the war ended.He is survived by his wife, Wanetta Lofaso of Lake Charles; sister, Rose Grace Cooper of Lake Charles; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Lofaso of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Michelle L. Baca and husband Mario of Moss Bluff, Kim L. Brewer and husband, Bill of Moss Bluff and 3 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Josephine Catalano Lofaso and son, Harvey Ray Lofaso. His funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Deacon George Carr will officiate. Burial will be in Consolata Cemetery. Pallbearers assisting in his service will be Mario Baca, Kyle Baca, Bill Brewer, Mike Lofaso, Kelvin Lartigue, and Marko Baca.
