Freda Lee LaBove Hooper, 84, loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, was called home to be with the Lord on July 18, 2021. She left this world, the way she had wanted, peacefully in her sleep. Freda entered this world on August 23, 1936, born to Elray and Irene Nunez LaBove of Creole, Louisiana.

Freda was a Master in the kitchen and loved pleasing everyone with her cooking. She enjoyed country music, bonfires, bingo and casinos. She also loved making people laugh and was always very upbeat.

Freda is survived by her son, Frank Hooper Jr; daughters, Darla Jean Hooper, Debbie Sue (Perry)Taylor; grandchildren, Cari, Heather, Francisco, Curtis II, Derek, Dustin, Devin, Chad, Krissi, Cody, Trevor, Kourtney, Garrett, and Billy; twenty eight great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter on the way; along with many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Freda is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Hooper Sr; daughter, Tammie Gail (Dwayne)Nunez; grandsons, Zach and Brandon Taylor; along with five brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 11:00am, with Msgr. James Gaddy officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm, with a Rosary at 6:00pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens.
