

George “Dewey” Boudreaux, 88, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012, at his home in Sweetlake, La. from natural causes. Dewey was born in Creole, La on May 21, 1924. At the age of 16, he joined the Coast Guard and served aboard a Submarine Chaser during World War II.
He worked at Pure Oil, Crain Brothers, and retired from the State Department. He lived in Creole until Hurricane Rita where he attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He then moved to Sweetlake where he attended Christ the King Catholic Church in Lake Charles. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3014, Woodman of the World, American Legion Post 176, Farm Bureau, VFW, and Louisiana Cattlemen’s Association.
Everyone who knew Dewey knew he enjoyed gardening, picking pecans, and taking care of his cattle. He is survived by his son, Dewey “Jr. Boy” Boudreaux and wife, Linda Bertrand, of Creole and their children, J.M. Boudreaux and Amanda Trosclair; daughter, Gwendolyn, and husband, John Allen Hebert, of Lake Charles and their children, Tammy Dearman, Brenna Hebert, Derrick Hebert, and Caire Boudreaux. He is also survived by 19 Great-grandchildren: Timothy Montet; Hunter, Evan, and Julia Dore; Savanna Boudreaux; Lucas and Ty Trosclair; Ella, Henry “Hank”, Matthew, and Adam Hebert; Jo Lynn, Gabe, Anna, Luke and Audrey Boudreaux; Haegen Gray; Hunter and Halie Olmsted. His siblings are: Clarence “Bo Chaulk” Boudreaux (deceased), Mae LeBouef, Joyce Savioe, Charles “Charlie” Boudreaux (deceased), Geraldine Richard, Galton Boudreaux, and Martha Lebleu Conner. He is preceeded in death by his parents Mayo and Lucia Theriot Boudreaux, wife, Dorothy Mae Nunez Boudreaux and infant daughter, Tammy Boudreaux.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lake Charles. His nephew, Rev. Wayne LeBleu, will officiate. Pallbearers for the service are J.M. Boudreaux, Derrick Hebert, Bret Boudreaux, Scooter Trosclair, Slade Dearman, Timothy Montet, Galton Boudreaux, Ty Trosclair, Lucas Trosclair, Hunter Dore, Evan Dore, Henry Hebert, Matthew Hebert, Adam Hebert, Gabe Boudreaux and Luke Boudreaux. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Hixson Funeral of Lake Charles with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a Scripture Service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
