Irvin Joseph Trahan Sr.

He was a tugboat captain. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Ann Trahan, son, Irvin Joseph Trahan, Jr., daughters, Veronica Lynn Fontenot and husband Nathan, Leah Ann Roberts and husband Steven; sister, Mable Jean Marshall, brothers, William Kershaw, Murphy Kershaw, Clifford Kershaw; eleven grandchildren, two step grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, Fernand Trahan, mother, Viola Kershaw, daughters, Lisa Trahan, Shana Trahan, granddaughter, Hannah Choate.

The family would like to thank Dr. Garrett Ryder, Dr. Jose Gonzales and Odyssey Hospice for all their care and dedication.

His service will be Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Bro. Doyle Evans will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and resume Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Niblett’s Bluff Cemetery.
