James L. Ryan

He lived in Lake Charles most of his life. He was employed by the City of Lake Charles as a maintenance supervisor for 40 years. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Teresa Ryan; son, “Val” Ryan and wife, Joy of Henderson, TX; granddaughters, Lynette Ryan of Rogers, AR, Laura Payne and husband, Kevin of Henderson, TX; granddaughter-in-law, Tammi Jordan of Henderson, TX; great grandchildren, Tristen Ryan, Hannah Sellers, Dillon Fowlkes, Nathan Conley, Mason Payne and Colton Payne all of Henderson, TX, as well as numerous extended family and special friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Hazel Firmature and a grandson, Scott Ryan.

His funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. Keith Cating will officiate. Pallbearers assisting in his service will be Dale Bebee, Marcus Bebee, Don Fontenot, Brandon Fontenot, Darren Fontenot and Mike Savant. Burial will be in Hebert Cemetery.
