

She was born in Jennings, Louisiana and moved to Lake Charles in 1926. She graduated valedictorian of her class at Lake Charles High School in 1938. She graduated from Vincent’s business college in 1940. She was employed by Gulf States Utilities for 42 years and became the first woman supervisor in Lake Charles. She was past president of several organizations: Ladies Auxiliary Calcasieu Boat Club, Ladies Auxiliary Electrical Worker’s Local 861 and Les Femmes De’Affaires Chapter A.B.W.A .
She is survived by one son, Arden Richard Johnson and his wife Brenda of Lake Charles; 3 Grandchildren, Mike Johnson and wife, Kathy, Ron Johnson and wife, Deanna, and Karen (Johnson) Elfert and husband, Robert all of Lake Charles; 8 great grandchildren; Christopher, Chelsea, Caldon, Patrick, Chace, Hannah, Katelyn & John Adam, as well as one great-grandchild, Paityn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arden Francis Johnson & four sisters.
Her funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Dr. John White will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens.
