

He was a native and lifelong resident of Lake Charles. John was a graduate of San Diego, CA Adult College. He was a retired Navy Veteran after 22 years of service. John retired from PPG Industries after 22 years. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church and was a Eucharist Minister. John was a member of the FRA (Fleet Reserve Association).
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Gladys Stevens Singleton of Lake Charles; sons, Gregory Singleton of Houston and Chad Singleton and wife Janet of Missouri City, TX; daughter, Deidera Flores and husband Frank of Missouri City, TX; brothers, Raymond Singleton and Norman Singleton; sisters, Mary Ann Martin and Patricia Nicholson; 14 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Cora Olivia Singleton and brothers, Richard and Donald Singleton.
Visitation will be from 8a.m. until service time with a Rosary at 9a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11a.m. on Saturday at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery with Military Honors.
