She was born on June 25, 1942 in Iowa, LA to her late parents, Norris and Arsine Peloquin. Mrs. Calingasan enjoyed bowling, crocheting, crabbing, fishing, and spending time with her family and many grand and great grandchildren as well as many friends. She was a member of the Ladies Home League and attended the Salvation Army Church for many years. She traveled the world with her husband of 44 years and her children. She made many friends on her travels throughout her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband Gregorio Salcedo Calingasan, Sr.; her mother and father; one brother; along with one sister.
She is survived by her children, Rusty Calingasan (Tara) of Clinton, LA, Penny Maneille (Ricky) of DeQuincy, Dianna Bertrand of Lake Charles, and Belinda Farris (Carl) of Lake Charles; brothers, Norris Peloquin of Sulphur, Orlon Ray Peloquin of Carlyss, Fred Peloquin of Carlyss, Lloyd Peloquin of DeQuincy, Leon Peloquin of Lake Charles; sisters, Ethel Dronnet of Sulphur, Mell Garrett (Sam) of LeBleu Settlement, Ola Bell Breaux of Carlyss, Peggy Butterfield (Bobby) of Carlyss, Erotta Carroll (Scott) of Lake Charles; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter on the way.
Services will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 with Captain Beth Anderson officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 from 10:00am-9:00pm and will resume on Wednesday, from 8:00am till the time of the service. Burial will follow at Midland Cemetery in Gueydan, LA.
