

He was born and raised in Lake Charles and resided in Westlake since 1993. A 1971 graduate of Lake Charles High School, Keith then attended McNeese and LSU. In 1976 he and his wife opened Keith’s Jewelry and Pawn Shop in downtown Lake Charles. They have since been proud owners of the longest surviving downtown business in Lake Charles. Keith was active in various downtown development organizations and also served on the Louisiana Pawnbrokers Association Board of Directors. He followed his passions: the outdoors, motorsports, cooking, and family.
Keith is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Laura Day Waldmeier; his daughter, Mrs. Christina Waldmeier Auen and husband Huck of Denver, CO.; his son, Judson Keith and wife Holly Lyons Waldmeier of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Alex, Jackson, Avery, and Henry. He is also survived by brothers, Lance and Kent; and sister, Angele Waldmeier Boyette. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Andy.
His funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday, August 8, 2011 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Words of comfort may be expressed with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
