

Mr. Mouton was born May 28, 1932, attended school in Lacassine and was a 1950 graduate of Iowa High School where he lettered in basketball, baseball, track and football and was also a graduate of Sowela Tech in welding. He was a member of the very first football team at Iowa High which won state their first year in existence.
After graduating he joined the US Air Force and was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX and at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. Four years later he married his lifelong love of 58 years, Shirley Ann Conner, on July 3, 1954 and began working at Continental Oil Refinery as a welder in 1956. He retired from Vista Chemical (Sasol) 38 years later in 1994.
Mr. Mouton lived in Lake Charles, for 40 years and was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church, then moved to Ragley where he was member of St. PiusX Catholic Church. He absolutely adored his 2 granddaughters and had no problem letting them and the rest of the world know they were the loves of his life. Also he cherished his dog, Paco and enjoyed sharing burgers and ice cream with him. Mr. Mouton was a loyal supporter of the LaGrange sports program until his granddaughters started school then became a staunch supporter of whatever school they attended, and whatever activities they were a part of. He loved French music, dancing, western movies, IHOP restaurant and all sports.
Mr. Mouton leaves to savor his memory, his loving, nurturing and ever-loyal wife, Shirley Ann Conner Mouton; son, Laurice B. Mouton Jr. “Benny” of Carlsbad, CA; daughter, Jolane Londier and husband, Robert of Ragley, LA; granddaughters, Layna and Ashlyn Lonidier; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Lovina Mouton and sister, Frances Morgan.
His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, 1pm, at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Monsignor Charles Dubois and Father Whitney MIller will officiate. Visitation will begin Monday 3pm-9pm with a rosary 7pm at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles and resume on Tuesday 9am until service time.
