Lillie Buckalew

She was born in Bedias, Texas and moved to Iowa, Louisiana in 1985. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and Nana. She was a devout christian woman who lived her life for God. She attended First Pentecostal Church in Iowa, Louisiana for the past 17 years.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her six children, Eddie Strapps and wife, Clara; Sherry Mienke and husband, Troy; Barbara Smith and husband, Bobby; George Buckalew and wife, Theresa; Michael Buckalew and wife, Carla; Joe Buckalew; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; 2 sisters; 1 brother and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, George Grady Buckalew, as well as her parents, Lester and Katie Small.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 10, 2010 from 4-9 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 11, 2010 at 3 p.m. in Bedias, Texas at Pankey Cemetery. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
