Lloyd Cecil Nelson

Lloyd was born September 25, 1943, the son of Cecil Lloyd and Katie Boyter Nelson.

Lloyd graduated from College, earning a master’s degree in Education. He also graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Lloyd is a retired teacher with the Caddo Parish School Board.

Lloyd loved volunteering for the Seafarer’s Ministry. He spent countless hours helping crew members with whatever services they needed.

Lloyd was a member of Sale Street Baptist Church.

Lloyd was a fervent defender of the Faith and he wanted everyone to have a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior.

Remaining to cherish Lloyd’s memory are his brother-in-law, Bob Green, nephew, David Green, niece, Karen Green, niece, Janet Ritchie, and several great nieces and nephews.

Preceding Lloyd in death are his Parents, Cecil and Katie Nelson, and his sister, Ruth Green.

Visitation will be held Monday, December 8, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. A private family memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 9 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Prien Lake Cemetery.
