

Lula Mae Cloud, age 85, of Kinder, Louisiana passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020. Mrs. Cloud was born January 2, 1935 to Frank and Lorice Duplechain Moore in Kinder, LA, where she was a lifelong resident.
Lula Mae married the love of her life on December 31, 1949, and was an assistant police chief's wife for over 20 years. She was devoted to her family her entire life, and was a pillar of strength and wisdom for her husband, children, and grandchildren. Fluent with the Cajun language, she was known for her delicious Cajun cooking especially her gumbo and potato salad. Many knew her as a talented seamstress, sewing late into the night, crafting beautiful wedding gowns, Easter dresses, and handmade dolls for her friends and loved ones. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her, especially her family.
Lula is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Herman Moore, Irvin Moore, Willie Wilson Walker, Howard Walker and her husband R.Z. Cloud of 42 years.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cecilia Cloud of Lake Charles, LA; sons, Frank Cloud of Gilbert, AZ and Stuart Cloud of Kinder, LA; two grandchildren, Christy Cloud Pousson and husband, Jeremy of Baton Rouge, LA, and Justin W. Cloud of Gilbert, AZ.; three great grandchildren, Anna Pousson. Caroline Pousson, and Cecilia Rose Pousson.
Services have been entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles, LA.
