Madelene D. McNabb, 92, passed away October 16, 2018 in a local hospital with family and friends by her side.
She was born in Montgomery, LA and lived in Lake Charles. She was a receptionist for Dr. Herman O’Conner for 26 years where she retired. She was a Charter Member of Victory Baptist Church and the most important person in her life was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who she shared with family and friends. She always said “I have had a wonderfully blessed life”, and was thankful for the life God gave her. In her heart, her home and in her car she kept an open Bible for protection and obeyed the Words of God continually. She was a firecracker, encourager and a joy to be around. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her sons, Delmon McNabb and wife Dianne of Lafayette; Darrell McNabb and wife Patty of Arlington, TX; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, sister, Charlene Knapp of W. Monroe, numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward McNabb; parents, Henry and Linnie Carter Durham.
A special thanks to her nieces, Mary Kay Eason and Nellwyn Metcalf who always was there for her, family friend, Martha Bougeois and a million Thank You’s to Dr. Michael Turner and staff.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in her memory to: Victory Baptist Church, Missions Program, 7515 Gulf Hwy, Lake Charles, LA 70607.
