Marie Eve Sheffield

Marie Eve Sheffield, age 89, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, December 30, 2020. Marie was born January 17, 1931 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Nelson Dartez and Felica Aucoin Dartez.

Marie was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and was a devoted member of St. Henry Catholic Church.

During her younger years as a home maker and raising her children, she also help others by babysitting. She had several hobbies including embroidery, ceramics and word search puzzles. She was a very jovial and fun person and loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Hilton Sheffield; brothers, Roger Dartez, Nelson Dartez Jr. and Asa Dartez; sister, Bell Baumgarten.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Albert and wife Tammy of Lake Charles, LA; daughters; Paula Sheffield of Lake Charles, Kathleen Daigle and husband Marshall of Jennings, LA and Gwendolyn Richard and husband David of Ville Platte, LA; grandchildren, Christian Granger, Tyler Granger and Katie Richard; brother in law, Lynwood Sheffield and wife Carol Sue.

Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Monday January 4, 2020 from 4pm-8pm with a Rosary to be prayed at 6pm. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday 8am until proceeding for A Mass of Christian Burial held at St. Henry Catholic Church at 10am. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
