Mary Thompson Rankin

She was everyone's mother and if a need could be met she would meet it. She loved gospel music and prayers. She loved to dress up making sure she wore her hats.

She is survived by her son, Henry B. Rankin, Jr. of Alexandria; daughters, Jo Ann Frank of Lake Charles; Barbara Moore and husband Lionel of Lake Charles; Minister Henrietta Williams of Lake Charles; Evangelist Rose Mason and husband Calvin of Matthews, VA.; brothers, Elder Robert Lee, Elder George, Vernel, Charlie and Elder James Thompson; sisters, Bessie Thompson, Irma Gordon, Janet Vernon and Delores Thompson; twenty two grandchildren and forty seven great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry B. Rankin, Sr., son, Joseph Earl Thompson, brothers, Eugene and Jimmy Thompson, Jr., sisters, Sarah Bates, Bernadine Harrell and Ernestine Cockerham.

Her service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 14, 2013 at New Beginnings Church of God in Christ. Elder Charles E. Porter, Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at the church. Burial will be at Combre Memorial Park Cemetery.
