

Mary Bachman Wadsack aged 92,
passed away Saturday April 7, 2012 at home with her husband of 68 years beside her.
She was born May 9, 1919 on a farm in Auglaize County, OH. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1941 with a degree in Business Administration and served as a 1st Lieutenant with the Women’s Army Air Corps during World War II. During the war, she was stationed in North Carolina where she met and married the love of her life, William A. Wadsack. After the war, they settled in Lake Charles which had been his last duty station. She later attended McNeese State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Upper Elementary Education. She taught Louisiana History for many years until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of the American Association of University Women. She was a founding member of Art Associates. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church for 62 years where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school. She was an excellent square dancer and she loved to travel. She and her husband visited every State of the Union as well as Mexico, Canada, Holland, Germany, France, Sweden, Russia, Austria, Greece, New Zealand, and the Fiji Islands.
Survivors include her husband William A. Wadsack; Son William B. Wadsack and wife Marilyn Johnson Wadsack, Son John Frederick Wadsack and wife Debbie Shaheen Wadsack, and daughter Patricia Louise Wadsack. Her grandchildren are Jacob C. Wadsack and wife Julie Campbell Wadsack, William C. Wadsack and wife Jennifer Jarnagin, Daniel K. Wadsack, Mary Margaret Salmon, Kathryn Nicole Salmon, Eric Scott Salmon and Jennifer Midgett. Her great grandchildren are John Luke Wadsack, Nicholas James Wadsack, and Isabel Julia Wadsack. Her brother-in law is Charles Edwin Wadsack. She is preceded in death by 5 beloved brothers and sisters and is survived by one brother, Mathias Bachman along with seven nieces and five nephews.
Visitation will be at the Hixson Funeral home from 4-7 PM on Tuesday the 10th of April.
The funeral will be at the First Presbyterian Church at 10 AM Wednesday the 11th of April.
Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens.
