Norma Bain Fornea

Norma was born in Picayune, Mississippi on August 21, 1927, to Walter G. And Sutie E. Seal. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Sutie, her brother Claude Edmond Seal and her spouse Paul Wesley Fornea. She is survived by a daughter, Vikki F. Oakley and spouse Larry E. Oakley of Frederick, MD, a son, Robert P. Fornea and spouse Anne Fornea of Bedford, TX. Also surviving are grandchildren Ryan Shepherd of Houston, TX, Rachael Grigsby and spouse Jeffery of Omaha, NE, Wesley Fornea and spouse Beth of Fate, TX, Andrew Fornea of Bedford, TX and great grandchildren Adam and James Fornea of Fate, TX.

Norma graduated from Picayune High School in 1944 and attended Pearl River County Junior College. After marrying her high school sweetheart she moved to Lake Charles in 1947 from Mississippi and she and her husband quickly established themselves with First Baptist Church. First Baptist Church was a second family to Norma where she availed herself to many various positions and activities such as Sunday School teacher, Training Union teacher, caregiver in Nursery, Women's Missionary Union, Wedding Committee, Visitation member, Homebound Committee, Intercessory Prayer Warrior and many other needs of her church family.

Norma will be missed by family and longtime friends, but she was welcomed into heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as well as loved ones that preceded her in death.

Services will be 11:00am, Friday, September 23, 2016 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 until time of service. Burial will follow at Prien Memorial Park Cemetery. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com
