

Peggie was a native and resident of Odum, GA until 1958. She was a 1958 graduate of Odum High School. After high school she was employed at Marvin White’s Midway Drive-in and Clara's Beauty Salon. Later she was the owner of Everett's Quick Check. She also was the owner of White’s Auto Parts and manager of Dimmicks. Currently she was the manager of Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts, and a Calcasieu Parish School Bus Driver for 30 plus years and was currently driving bus #508.
Peggie was very dedicated, loyal to her friends and customers and always willing to serve and care for each child as if they were her own. She was a hard worker and a pillar of the Westlake community.
She was a former member of First Baptist Church of Westlake where she was a member of Rev. Oliver McGuire's Sunday school class. She has been a member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church for the last 4 years where she served as a Eucharist Minister, an ACTS team member and Sister of the ACTS Community. She was a very Christian person and loved her church.
Those left to cherish her precious memory are her daughter, Clara "Denise" Rougeou and husband, Rusty of Moss Bluff; son, Ronald E. Blocker of Magnolia, TX; two sisters, Mary Autry and Nettie Collins both of Georgia; four grandchildren, Graham “My Angel” Rougeou, Buck Blocker and wife, Shelley, Ashley Rodrigue and husband, Josh, Lewie Rougeou and Joie; five great grandchildren, Hannah Rodrigue, Channing Rodrigue, Leah Rodrigue, Daylon Blocker, and Levi Rougeou.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Wilma Overstreet; adoptive parents, Marvin and Clara White, husband of 51 1/2 years, Everett Blocker; brother, Bennie Overstreet; uncle and aunt, Warnell "Shorty" and Pauline Overstreet; and her Boston Terrier, Georgia.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11am Monday, May 5, in St. John Bosco Catholic Church of Westlake. Father Bert Borel, Deacon Fred Reed, and Rev. Oliver McGuire will officiate. Visitation is from 2-9pm Sunday, May 4, with a rosary/ scripture service at 6pm in Hixson Funeral Home of Westlake. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Lake Area Medical Center Unit 2 South, ICU, Dr. Sandra Bruno, Dr. “A.”, Dr. O’Donnell, Dr. McCalla, and Dr. King White. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Bosco ACTS, 1301 Sampson St., Westlake, LA 70669.
