

Robert C. “Bob” Manning II, 65, a lifelong resident of Lake Charles died at his home surrounded by family after a four year long battle with Prostate Cancer. Bob was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lake Charles where he was an active member. He was a 1964 graduate of LaGrange High School and graduated from McNeese State University in Electrical Engineering. Bob was a veteran of the Vietnam War. In 1968, he was promoted to Head Company Medic in the 1st Air Cavalry where his rank was SP5. He was a charter member of Krewe de la Noblesse and Krewe Bon Cour. Bob greatly enjoyed attending Krewe functions.
Bob is survived by one sister Alice Manning Bowers and husband Joey “Chicken Hawk” Bowers, two stepsons, Scott Donaldson and wife Dawn of Houston, TX, Kirk Donaldson and girlfriend Dorothy of DeRidder, LA, , three step grandchildren Courtney Farmer ,Candace, and Lindsay Donaldson and his best friend and dog Allee. He was preceded in death by his parents Cliff and Edith Manning and his girlfriend of 20 years Mary Donaldson.
Funeral Services for Mr. Manning will be held at 2 Pm Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in the Chapel of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. Rev. Betty McGehee will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011 from 2PM until 8PM and will resume on Tuesday at 11AM until time of service.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Chester Miller, Robert Le Bouef, Judge John Hood, Dr. Alan Perry, Dr. David Kestal, and Dr. Terry Murphy.
