Roberta Crow Honeycutt

Roberta was born October 15, 1931 in Lillie, La to Murphy John and Mildred Love Crow. She lived in the Lake Charles area for the past 62 years. She was valedictorian of her graduating class Epps High School, and graduated Cum Laude from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. She taught Home Economics and Science at various schools throughout Calcasieu Parish.

Roberta was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her six grandchildren were her pride and joy. Roberta and Herbert always placed God in the center of their home, and they lived out their faith to the fullest. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Charles, where she and Herbert were married.

Visitation will commence at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Saturday, January 24th, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The Visitation will continue on Sunday, January 25th, 2015 at the funeral home from 12:00 Noon until Christian Service time at 1:00 PM. Dr. Johnny Derouen will officiate the service. Burial will be in Bellwood Cemetery.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Ivette (Johnny) Derouen of Fort Worth, TX and Robin(Kim) Garner of Lake Charles, one son; Tim(Pam) Honeycutt of Lake Charles. Six grandchildren; Josh Derouen, Ty Derouen, Jennifer(David) Morton, Adam Garner, Zachary Honeycutt, and Ethan Honeycutt. One great-grandchild, Jakob Morton, Brother, William(Betty)Crow of Bossier City, sisters Johnette Ney of Lake Charles and Eloise(Dewey) Sealle of W. Monroe. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
