

He was born February 25, 1950 to the proud parents of W.R. and Dorothy R. Maynor and passed away on September 24, 2012, surrounded by his family. He had been employed by Broad Street Berry Bros. Auto Parts, P.P.G., Boeing, and was an over the road truck driver for 7 seven years. Roger enjoyed spending time sitting on his back porch visiting with family and friends, and fishing in his special fishing pond.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Ellen Deaton Maynor; daughter, Wanda Sonnier and husband, Robert; three sons, Wilbur Russell Maynor and wife, Michele, Charles Glen Maynor and wife, Christina, and William Dennis "Billy-Little R" Maynor; and four grandchildren, Joshua, Whittni, Jacob, and Benjamin of Westlake. He is also mourned by his beloved dogs, Duke and Sammie, and his loving cat, Matilda. He is preceded in death by his parents, W.R. and Dorothy R. Maynor, and siblings, Marilyn and Ronald.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 27, in Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The Rev. Charles Winstead will officiate. Pallbearers will be Greg Ragle, Eugene Vellion, Darrell Coleman, John Viator, Jared Milner, and Low Rider. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles.
