

Sybil was born in Lock Port to the late Benoit C. Dugas of Belle Rose, LA and Eva May Hawkins of Lock Port, LA. Sybil was raised in the woods and bayou with her two sisters, Evelyn Mackey (deceased) and Evelie Gilchrist Clement of Lake Charles, and shadowed her Daddy around enjoying hunting and fishing adventures. She loved the Red birds and spent as much time as possible in the gardens. Graduating from Westlake High School, she married Tony Sylvester and had five children: Kenneth C, Michael W, Patricia A. Hedrick, Terry L, Don A. and later “adopted” Sylvia R. White Sylvester Livingston (deceased). Years later she married Wes Williams (deceased) and they enjoyed competitive dancing and shared so many wonderful memories in their short years together. Throughout her years in Lake Charles, She worked in numerous jobs always uplifting others and leaving a smile on their faces. She followed in her Daddy’s footsteps and was a bookkeeper for Black Angus. She loved her family, French food, music and dancing of all types, she enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with her friends and looked forward to her next adventure in travel.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother (Jai), great grandmother, aunt and friend. She leaves behind her five children, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
A Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 1st at the Calcasieu Boat Club on 210 Beach from 12:00-3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Hospital would be appreciated. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.hixsonfuneralhomes.com.
