Vicky spent her life in total heartfelt service to her family, whether they were born into it, married into it, or just taken under her giant wings. She could often be found at Piccadilly, secretly paying for random strangers’ dinner. Her whole life was guided by her generous spirit.
She leaves behind a legacy of a huge family that has known her loving embrace. After 25 years of wild and crazy adventures together, her husband, Gary Langley, of Grand Lake, LA is now the leader of their big pack, including 6 children – Annette Langley of Eufaula, OK, Tricia (and Othell) Hamilton of Denton, TX, Jill (and Freddie) Humphrey of Sulphur, LA, Ray (and Stephanie) Kiser of Warrensburg, MO, Neal (and Heather) Kiser, of Texarkana, TX, and Heather (and James) Grigsby of Sulphur, LA. Vicky loved nothing more than spending time loving on her 23 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was determined to spoil them rotten, no matter what their parents said. Vicky is no doubt dancing a heavenly jitterbug right now with her brother, Ricky Beard, sister Cynthia Beard, and father Ray Beard, who preceded her in death. Her mother, Bonnie Beard, of Lake Charles, LA, and her brother David (and Darlene) Beard of Lake Charles, LA will feel her absence deeply and look forward to a huge crawfish boil together in Heaven one day.
She was Nanny, Maw Maw, and Friend to any and all who came into and through her 59 years of life. She believed in leading life to the fullest and never took no for an answer, and would challenge you to try something new as soon as you get the chance. Her family will now be trying to fill her kitchen shoes and we will all spend the rest of our lives trying to perfect her chocolate peanut butter fudge recipe and not even come close. Rest in Peace Vicky, and enjoy your pain-free adventures in heaven while we all enjoy your famous Chocolate Chip cookie recipe.
