

Betty Jo Jackson, a beloved and adventurous soul, passed away on November 25, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on March 8, 1945, in Chicago, Il, she was known for her kind-hearted, humorous, and generous nature. Betty was a long-time resident of Lake Odessa, Michigan.
Betty Jo had a fulfilling career as an LPN for many years in area nursing homes. Her work brought her much joy, and she carried out her duties with pride, often covering others during holidays. Additionally, she was a waitress for many years at the Amway Grand Hotel in Grand Rapids, where she had the opportunity to mentor many and meet celebrities such as Johnny Cash.
She was united in marriage to her husband, Anthony Jackson, together they celebrated 30 years of marriage. Betty is survived by her daughter, Janeneine Reed, and her grandchildren, Perry Snook, Robert (Crystal) Reed. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren Kailis Snook, Cori Reed, Oli Reed, and Rosa Lee Reed, as well as her sibling Steve (Karlene) Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Thelma Johnson.
Betty had a passion for sewing, knitting, and quilting. Her favorite memories revolved around Smyrna, MI, where she attended country school and learned to fly at a young age under her father Robert's guidance. She also cherished the time spent on Grandpa Johnson's farm in Lake Odessa.
Visitation will be held at Koops Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, from 5 pm until 8 pm. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 11 am.
Donations in Betty's name can be given the Central United Methodist Church to help support the Community Dinners they put on every Thursday.
