Betty Lou Kuhlman

KUHLMAN---Betty Lou (Jones) Kuhlman, aged 81, of Hastings, went to rest on March 6, 2009, and is waiting for Jesus to return. The beloved daughter of the late William and Lettie (Trivitt-Elmore) Jones, Betty was born in Lawrence, Kansas on October 8, 1927. She was preceded in death by her 6 brothers and 2 sisters; and her former husband, James C. Kuhlman. Surviving are her ten children, Joyce Eaves, Patricia (Bill) Ross, Barbara (Wendell) Saladin, James William Kuhlman, Michael Kuhlman, Carolyn (Brian) Bailey, Rosemary Rye, Alice (Regan) Chase, Judy (Bruce) Burgess, and Jackie White; foster daughter, Marie (Jim) Meilstrup; 29 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; and several wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. Betty loved spending time with her family, camping, fishing, traveling, and sewing. She loved her family and considered each addition to it a blessing, and had enough love to share with them all. Betty's family is deeply grateful and appreciative to Alice and Regan and their children, Justin, Magen, and James, for opening their home and caring for Mom with so much love for the past three and a half years. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. There will be a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 PM on Wednesday and continuing until the time of the funeral service. Burial will be in Woodland Memorial Park. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society for ovarian cancer research, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
