Darwin C. Raffler, age 77, of Woodland, Michigan went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 17, 2022 after battling with Alzheimer's for years. He was born July 14, 1945 in Lansing,MI to Vernice and Lucille Raffler. Dar was raised on the family farm just east of Woodland and was married to Janice Landon for 50 years. He was a 1963 graduate of Woodland High School. After graduation he served in the US Army as Military Police and then worked for GM for 28 years. Dar also enjoyed gardening and selling tomatoes and peppers. Most folks will remember Dar for his years of coaching Cross Country and Track, his regular walks around the area, as well as always having a wintergreen mint for you. He was a devoted family man and believer of Jesus, teaching Sunday school for many years at Vermontville Bible Church.
He will be dearly missed by; his wife Jan, children Heidi (Clark) Rickerd , Jason (Hollie) Raffler and Adam (Cydney) Raffler, grandchildren Jacob, Cole(Erica), Owen and Ashton Rickerd, Tyson, Shane, Mayleigh, Alana and Marcus Raffler, Addyson, Gabriel, Sophia, Elisha, Ellaouise, Aubrie, Melody, Greta, Judah, and Boaz Raffler, great grandson Cade Rickerd, siblings Dick Raffler, Marguerite Platte, Marv (Sue) Raffler, along with many nieces and nephews.
Dar was preceded in death by; his parents, siblings Art, Vernon Lee, Dutch, Larry, Arnie and Donnie.
Visitation will be held on July 19, 2022 at Koops Funeral Chapel from 6pm until 8pm. Funeral services to celebrate Dar's life will be held at the Vermontville Bible Church starting at 11am with visitation held 1 hour prior to service on July 20, 2022. Burial will take place at Fuller Cemetery at 2pm. Donations in Dar's name can be given to Vermontville Bible Church.
