David Allen Dorn II

David Allen Dorn II passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 30. He was 46 years old.

David was born in Lansing on Aug. 12, 1973, and lived in Mason during his childhood, graduating from Mason High School in 1991. He spent the majority of his adulthood living in Grand Rapids.

David loved all sports, and collecting comic books, books and movies (he never met a thrift store or garage sale he didn’t like). He adored animals, particularly cats and dogs, and was never without a pet his entire life. After taking piano lessons as a child, he returned to the hobby in recent years. He took great pride in his only nieces, Peyton and Frances.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents, Uncle Steve (Dorn), and his mother, Hazel. He is survived by his father, David Allen Dorn, of Clarksville, his sister Jennifer (Jay) and his nieces, of Mason, along with aunts, uncles and cousins. A small family service will be held at Koop’s Funeral Home in Lake Odessa on Monday, June 8, officiated by David’s cousin, Rev. Dr. Chris Dorn. He will be interred in Goodrich, North Dakota, next to his mother.
