Donald A. Cox

Donald A. Cox, age 60, of Woodland, MI passed away after a brief battle with cancer at his home on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Don was born in Hastings on December 17, 1953 to Norman and Fredia (McCurdy) Cox. In 1973 he married Dora May Miller together they raised two children. Don was a simple man who worked hard and considered himself a lucky man to have a wife who loved him dearly even after 41 years. For 36 years Don worked for the Buskirks Lumber Yard in Freeport until illness forced him to retire. Don will be dearly missed by: wife Dora, children Donna(Brian) Smith and Donald A.(Cat) Cox Jr., grandchildren Corey Bookman, Megan Smith, twin grandchildren Kenzith and Kyliya Cox, siblings Dale(Lynn) Cox, Sue Cox, Janet Griffin and Sarah(Robert) Gallager along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Preceding in death are his parents and sister Julie Ramirez. A Celebration of Life will be held privately by Don's family at a later date.
