Doris Maag

Doris Alma Maag (née Wells), born May 1, 1935, was received by her Lord Jesus on April 4, 2026. In her 91 years, Doris shared an abounding love with many. She was preceded in death by her husbands Francis B. Maag and Edward Bentley; daughter, Vicki Hicks; son, Francis Maag Jr.; grandsons Joshua Hicks and Paul Maag; and siblings Pauline, Ronald, Josephine, Alice, Richard, and Norman. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Lisa) Maag; husband, David Mier; brothers Gerald, Stephen (Cindy) Wells; grandchildren Ashley and Jon Maag, Jeremiah Hicks; stepchildren Ed, Tim, Gary, Judy, and Janice; cousin, Rosanne Elston; many extended family; and special friend, Donna Ransom.

Doris enjoyed camping every year (47 straight) at Pioneer Park, playing bingo, traveling, reading, puzzles, playing games (especially Skip-Bo). She loved being a master seamstress, making many matching outfits for her family. She was very active with her Oneida Gospel Church family, which she joined in 1959. Doris was the very example of kindness; she shared her joy for life and a giving spirit. She will be missed by the many who knew and loved her.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Koops Funeral Chapel, 935 4th Ave., Lake Odessa, MI. The funeral service for Doris will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2026, with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Oneida Gospel Church, 3048 Strange Hwy., Grand Ledge, MI.
