Eloise Blanche Lyon

Eloise Blanche Lyon, aged 93, formerly of Lake Odessa, passed way on May 19, 2009 at the Summerville Assisted Living Community in Bradenton, FL. Eloise was born in Saranac, MI on April 29, 1916. As a young child, she moved to Lake Odessa where her parents, Naomi and Leo Longwell were long-time residents. Eloise attended Lake Odessa schools where she met her late husband, Edmund Lyon, during their high school years. Eloise and Edmund lived in Grand Rapids where she was a 30 year employee at General Motors Diesel Equipment Plant, before moving to Bradenton in 1982. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Judy Lyon of Sarasota; grandchildren, Todd, Scott, Sabrina, and Clayton; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Roy Longwell, of Grand Rapids; and several nieces and nephews. Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, Edmund; and her daughter, Marilyn Forney. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. There will be a time of visitation with the family beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday and continuing until the time of the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
