Gary L. Stair

On March 7, 2010, the Lord called Gary Lee Stair, aged 70, of Lake Odessa to join the great paving crew in the sky. Gary had worked in road construction for 32 years. During that time, he and his wife, Ruth "Pude", worked and traveled throughout most of the United States. Along the way they made many special friends and uncountable memories. Gary's travels through life also included two years in Germany while his father served in the military. Gary's hobbies included hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and playing cards. In his later years, he enjoyed making wooden crafts and going to the coffee shop. Gary was born in Hastings, MI on June 30, 1939. He had served in the National Guard, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Gary is survived by Ruth, his loving wife of 51 years; sons, Roland Stair of Denver, CO and Gary "Buck" Stair of Tampa, FL; daughter, Ginger (Larry) Howe of Lake Odessa; 5 grandchildren, Jamie (Nathan) Boucher, Stacie Howe, Justin Stair, Amanda Stair, and Harlee Davis; great granddaughter, Lydia Boucher; sisters, Vicki (Jim) Hurst of Alaska and Carol (Dave) Melton of Arizona; brother-in-law, Gordon Eldridge of Lake Odessa; and sister-in-law, Rosie (Adrian) Ambler of Mason. Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Iris (Pierce) Reid. Visitation will be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa from 5-8 PM on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. The funeral and committal services will be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 10. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
