George Robert Self Jr. was born April 21,1943 to his parents George and Viola (Henshaw) Self in St. Louis, Mo. Upon graduation from Afton High School, Robert proudly served as a United State Marine 1962 to 1964. After being discharged, Robert attended Grace Bible College, now Grace Christian University in Wyoming, Michigan. Robert’s career was in trucking and transportation. His love of the Lord Jesus was the passion of his life. He was received into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, April 19,2026 because he put his faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Martha Rose (Roger) Sellen and Viola Ann (Red) Leone. He is survived by 10 nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held at Fort Custer April 29, 2026 at 11:30am.
