Henry Homer Jones

H. Homer Jones, age 79, of Lake Odessa went to be with his Lord Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Homer was born to John and Leler (Wells) Jones on December 1, 1933 in Gates, Tennessee. He served our country in the Army during the Korean War. After retiring from General Motors, Homer pursued his passion for music earning many awards in country music. In 1991, he married Virginia "Ginnie" Zimmerman and they spent 22 wonderful years together. Homer is survived by wife; Virginia "Ginnie" of Lake Odessa; sons, Craig, Kim, Micah of Lansing and Bill Joling of Muskegon; daughters, Marsha (John) Morrell of Lansing, Kimberly Mick of Ionia, and Linda Prangley of Grand Rapids; sisters, Annie Phillips and Susia Forbush of Lansing; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitations will be held on March 22-23, 2013 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Koops Funeral Chapel, 935 4th Ave., Lake Odessa, MI 48849. A celebration of Homer's Life will be announced at a later date.
