Joyce Raines

Joyce Clarice Raines, fondly known as Auntie Joyce, peacefully went home to be with her Lord March 26, 2026 after leading a wonderful life. Joyce was born on May 31, 1928 in Dell Rapids, SD on the family farm. Formerly of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she spent most of her life before moving to Middleville, Michigan, in 2020 to be closer to her family. Upon graduation from Washington High School in Sioux Falls, Joyce was in the accounting department for 42 years at the John Morrell Company where she spent a successful career. She was a person of strong faith, an active member of First Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday School for many years. She was an active member of Soroptimist International and a group of friends affectionately known as the “Silly Seven”. She spent many years volunteering at the public library.

She was loved by all her knew her for her kind, selfless nature. She always had time for her family, no matter the distance. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Russell and Ina Raines, and brother and sister-in-law Clint and Peggy Raines. She is survived by her cousins, nieces, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews from throughout the country.

A service will be held in the future in Sioux Falls. Any donations in her memory may be made to First Lutheran Church, Sioux Falls, South Dakota
