Kelly E. Walkington

Kelly E. Walkington, 48, of Freeport, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born May 1, 1963 in Belding, the son of Arnold and Patricia (Walsh) Walkington. Kelly graduated from Lakewood High School in 1982 and married Jolene Cridler in 1990. He was employed as a material handler at Magna Mirrors in Lowell. He enjoyed playing men's softball in Lowell, hunting, paintball and spending time with his family and friends. Kelly was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Jack; sister-in-law, Kelly Ann Tingley. Surviving is his wife, Jolene; children, Meghan Walkington, Elizabeth Walkington, Laura Walkington, Kelly Walkington, Jr. and Nicholas Walkington; grandchildren, Madison, Seth Kaylee, Jackson, Patrick and Brayden; father, Arnold Walkington; brothers and sisters, Charles (Karol) Swift, Jill (Mick) Vandevelde, Pamela Tingley and Darrin Boykin, Robert Tingley, Kirk (Kim) Walkington, Kyle (Brandi) Walkington; future sons-in-law, Ryan Shaw and Zachariah Richardson; parents-in-law, Wayne and Ardith Knop; numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 pm on Saturday, October 8, 2011 and 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Koops Funeral Chapel – Lake Odessa. Funeral services for Kelly will be conducted at 11 am on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Thornapple Valley Church, 2750 S. M-43 in Hastings. Interment Woodland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Kelly's name may be directed to the Lake Odessa Little League.
