Kenneth L. Hewitt

Kenneth L. Hewitt, aged 64, of Woodland, went to be with his Lord early Tuesday morning, April 27, 2010. Ken was born in Marshall, MI on January 24, 1946 to LaVerne and Leola (Henney) Hewitt. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1964. Ken was united in marriage to Carol Jackson on October 9, 1965. He had been employed at General Motors for 43 years. Ken had been an active member of the Lake Odessa Grace Brethren Church, where he taught Sunday School and was currently serving as a trustee. He had enjoyed bowling for many years, and he and Carol looked forward to spending summers at the lake in the Yankee Springs area. Ken is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Brad and Angie Hewitt of Rawlings, WY, and Trac Hewitt and special friend, Debbie Bartimus of Woodland; grandchildren, Chelsea Hewitt and fiancée, Nick Horstman, Mariah Hewitt, Bryan Hewitt, Aron Hewitt, and Hunter Hewitt; great grandson, Remington Horstman; step-grandchildren, Jasmine, Carmen, and Darion Pesce; parents, LaVerne and Leola Hewitt; brother, Tom (Sheri) Hewitt of Charlotte; and sister, Lou Ann (Jim) Apsey of Woodland. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Thursday, April 29 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 30 at the Koops Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Woodland Memorial Park. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Lake Odessa Grace Brethren Church (PO Box 645, Lake Odessa, MI 48849).
