

Lee Junior Hazel, age 80, of Lake Odessa, Michigan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 14, 2023. He was born February 23, 1943 to Lee A. and Ida Elnora (Lucas) Hazel. He graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1961. He served in the Army from 1961 to 1963 in Germany with missile transport. He married the love of his life 58 1/2 years ago, Roxie (McCaul) on December 12, 1964. Lee retired from General Motors after 33 years. He loved sports and played basketball until he was in his 70's. He was a coach for little league and women's softball. He played men's and co-ed softball with his family. He had just started to "Love" golf.
He is survived by his wife, Roxie and beloved dog Pixie, son Lance (Darcy), daughters Lesa (Gary) Raimer, Lori (Tom) Haskins, six grandchildren; Tyler (Terri) Raimer, Kaelee (JJ) Olin, Blake (Abbey) Haskins, Adam (Kaylee) Haskins, Lauren (Makay) Markwart, and Logan Hazel. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Kayden, Adelaide, Zayne, Arya, Harry, Easton, Roxy, Zoey, and Beckett. Brother Richard (Delores) Hazel, brothers in-law Neil (Yvonne) McCaul, Steve (Jana) McCaul, sisters in-law Betty (Terry) Haskins, Sue Elliott and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, In-laws Berton and Doris McCaul, sister and brother in-law Betty and Art Erickson, brothers in-law Alex McCaul and Gary Elliott.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 17th from 1 - 4 pm with luncheon at Kilpatrick United Brethren Church at 10005 E. Barnum Rd., Woodland, MI 48897. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Corewell Health Hospice or First Congregational Church of Lake Odessa. Private Burial has taken place in Lakeside Cemetery.
