Madelene F. Goodemoot

Madelene F. Goodemoot, age 97, of Lake Odessa passed away Friday, January 17, 2014 at the Eaton Community Palliative Care in Charlotte, MI. She was born to Clarence and Minnie (Rubedeau) Durkee on March 11, 1916 in Barryton, MI. Madelene was a graduate of Lake Odessa High School. Soon after graduation she married Berwin Stadel and together they farmed and raised a family until his death in 1962. She had also worked at Pennock Hospital as a scrub nurse, later working for doctors Hoff, Tromp and Lundeen. Madelene belonged to the Lake Odessa Grange Hall, Farm Bureau and was a Cub Scout Den Mother with her son Dallas. She enjoyed gardening, canning and playing the piano with her daughter Shirley. In 1964 she married Ford Goodemoot and they had 25 years together in which they finished raising his four children. They enjoyed camping, traveling and gardening together. Madelene is survived by: Son Dallas Stadel, grandchildren Dennis (Ann) Stadel, Dena (Kurt) Chase, Dawn Galaviz, Sunnee (Mark) Freed, Tammy (Kendall) Smith, Jim (Polly) Yager, Tim (Kathi) Yager, step children Sharon (Ron) Brink, Alan Goodemoot, Jean Mulford, Von (Sharlene) Goodemoot, step grandchildren Shae Rivet, Landon (Paige) Brink, Melissa (John) Meengs, Dan (Cherith) Goodemoot, Matthew (Pearl) Goodemoot, Marcy Goodemoot along with many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: her first husband Berwin Stadel, second husband Ford Goodemoot, her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister and daughter Shirley Yager. She was also preceded in death by these special people in her life: Bob Mulford , Bob Mulford Jr. Sharon Goodemoot, Ann Stadel, Bill Commee and Elsa Winter Freed. Funeral services are planned for Friday, January 24, 2014 at Koops Funeral Chapel 935 4th Ave, Lake Odessa, MI 48849 at 11 am with Visitation from 10 am till time of service. Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa, MI. Memorials are suggested to the Eaton Community Palliative Care 2675 S Cochran Rd, Charlotte, MI 48813, for the excellent hospice care she received. Funeral Service
