Marion J.J. Griffin

Miss Marion J. J. Griffin, aged 93, of Lake Odessa, was called Home to be with her Savior early Saturday morning, March 13, 2010. Marion was born in Grand Rapids, MI on August 19, 1916 to Peter and Vevah (Faust) Griffin. She graduated from Caledonia High School in 1935. Marion had worked and lived in several places in West Michigan, but always returned to Lake Odessa because it was the place she loved and called home. For many years, Marion was active with the Blood Bank and faithfully delivered their posters throughout Lake Odessa. She loved to meet friends for coffee at the bakery. She was active at the Central United Methodist Church in Lake Odessa and enjoyed serving as a greeter. Marion loved people; young and old, big and small. She was a loving aunt to several nieces and nephews; and had many great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Marion was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Mart Griffin and Lyn Griffin. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Sunday, March 14 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The funeral and committal services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 15 at the Central United Methodist Church with her friend and pastor, Dr. Eric Beck officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa. In lieu of flowers, Marion suggested that memorial contributions could be made to Central United Methodist Church, or to Pennock Hospice.
