Phil was such a sweet man.  I got to know him just a little bit through his faithful work on the Lakewood Area CROP Walk.  So quiet, kind, and willing to do his part to help those in need. This is probably the worst news I have ever received that my dear grandpa has passed away. I miss my grandpa so much but he sure is at peace. He's the greatest man I've ever known in my entire life. The best role model. I have no bad memory of my grandpa. He has given me so many wonderful memories as a child. I'm so thankful for being apart of his nature adventures. Church times. Late night ice cream runs and being tucked in bed by him and giving butterfly kisses. My grandpa sure knew how to keep a person happy and it all was with his kind heart ! We are taught as Christians to live as Christ would and to love one another as he loved us....My daddy was God's example to anyone that truly knew him!  Dad was so humble he couldn't see himself as others did.  He gave freely, worked hard with his two hands...believed strongly that nothing was going to get done unless you worked for it, did it on your own, & put God before anything in your life.  My precious daddy always picked me up whenever I fell and never gave up on me even when I gave up on me!  He spoiled me!!  He thrived on me appreciating nature and to always no matter what find the good in everyone.  I could be miles away from that man and I always felt safe and knew love existed because of him!  He always taught me to think before I spoke and if I couldn't say something nice say nothing at all.  My daddy went beyond being a great father, he was the BEST father and I can't wait for the day that he leads me home...you will always own my heart poppy! Sorry for your loss.  I graduated with Phil and he was my second cousin.  He always had that "shy" smile and always willing to help when help was needed.  Phil will be missed. Thoughts and prayers for Phil's family, he was such a kind man.       We frequently arrived for Sunday School at the same time and he always asked if he could help me with the grand kids.  One very cold and windy Sunday last winter he picked up 2 year old Levi and carried him into the Church, Levi never said a word to him, just stared at him, into the Church and up the stairs. We will remember Phil forever for his quiet, caring ways. Phil was always so supportive of me when I chaired VBS at Zion. He would listen intently to what I needed for props and then he would come up with something 10xs more than what I ever expected. He would bring his grandchildren to our program and worked right along side of us doing whatever was needed to make it a great experience for all of us. Phil truly enriched all the lives around him. My favorite memory of Phil was staying with Gretchen. We all called him Pa Bueller, he reminded us a little of the father off Ferris Bueller's day off. Quiet, gentle, never seemed to get upset for any reason. One day a bunch of us kids were hanging out in the living room where he was reading a newspaper. Out of nowhere he lunged out of his chair, and scooped one of us up! We were all speechless, since this was so out of character for him, and he laughed and laughed. What a great man. The hour has come for the son of man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed, but if it dies ,it produces many seeds. John 12:24     Phil was the best role model a daughter could possibly have, we were best friends, if either of us felt blue we would give the other a call and be laughing within minutes. He never asked for anything ever, but we all sure did ask him for everything, and he never said no, it was always sure sweetie, I'll be right there, don't worry I can do that, don't worry about me. Anything we needed no hesitation. Life will be a lot different with out my best friend to lean on. I am so thankful that he is now at peace, with no worries, sitting next to his father in heaven, what a party God must of gave Monday morning! I truly don't know any other human like Phil, he was the best dad & grandpa, never judged a single person, he loved his family unconditional. His body might be gone but we all have such grand memories, and a peace knowing he is at rest! I know if he was here reading this he would say " I don't know about that your really making me look good, I don't deserve that" well my sweet sweet dad you deserved much, much more! I love you with all my heart and soul!
