Phyllis Ann Decker

Phyllis Ann Decker, age 84, of Lake Odessa passed on Monday, September 12, 2016 at the American House Assisted Living in Holland, MI.  Phyllis was born on January 11, 1932 in Flushing, MI to Robert and Gladys (Luce) Lapworth.  She was a graduate of Lake Odessa High School.  On June 17, 1951 she married Max Decker and spent 62 years together and raised two children.  Phyllis loved to sew, quilt and was very active in the Central United Methodist Church.   Attending her grandchildren’s special events was a great source of joy for Phyllis.

Phyllis will be dearly missed by; her children Julie (Randy) VanHoof and Tom Decker, grandchildren Casey and Alison VanHoof, sister Jane (Lowell) Thomas, in-laws Earl Decker, Wayne (Shirley) Decker, Virginia Decker along with many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Phyllis in death are; husband Max Decker, parents Robert and Gladys Lapworth,sister Roberta (Theron) King,  brother in law Orville and sister in law Norma Decker. 

Visitation is planned for Thursday September 15, 2016 from 6pm until 8pm at Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, MI.  Graveside services are planned for Friday September 16, 2016 at 11am at Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa, MI.  Memorials are suggested to the Central United Methodist Church, Lake Odessa, MI.  Online condolences can be left at www.koopsfc.com
