Roger L. Allen

Roger L. Allen, age 92, of Lake Odessa passed away peacefully on July 20, 2017 surrounded by family at Green Acres in Ionia.  He was born on March 30, 1925 to William and Laura (Lane) Allen in Berlin Township.  On October 8, 1943, he married his first love, Alona Desgranges.  They enjoyed 73 years together.  Roger’s second love was farming, followed closely by his passion for golf. 

Roger will be dearly missed; wife Alona, daughter Barb (John) Kruis, daughters-in-law Linda Allen and RuthAnn (Ernie) Newman, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Preceding Roger in death were; his parents, sons Jim and Bill, sister Bernice Hamp and brother Paul Allen.

Visitation will be held on July 24, 2017 from 5pm until 7:30pm at Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, MI.  Funeral services will be held on July 25 at 2pm at the Lakewood United Methodist Church, Lake Odessa, MI.  Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa, MI.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given to Grace Hospice, 3355 Eagle Park Dr. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.  Online condolences can be left at www.koopsfc.com
