Roland Paul Geiger

Roland Paul Geiger, aged 87, of Woodland, went Home to be with his Lord on Friday evening, October 16, 2009. Roland was born in Woodland, MI on March 31, 1922, the son of the late Paul and Vera (Niethamer) Geiger. He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Dunham on August 29, 1947. Roland had served his country in the US Army during WW II. He had been a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church and the Jackson-Mutschler VFW Post #4461 in Lake Odessa. He is survived by his children, Sherry Geiger of Ionia, Greg (Deb) Geiger of Coral, Jeffrey (Elaine) Geiger of Woodland, and Kris (Greg) Thelen of Lake Odessa; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Roland was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Lou; and brother, Dale Geiger. Visitation will be held from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Monday, October 19 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 20 at the Woodland United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Woodland Memorial Park. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to Barry Community Hospice.
