

Rosemary F Hickey, a beloved and kind-hearted member of the Lake Odessa community, passed away on February 3, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on February 22, 1934, in Lake Odessa, Michigan, Rosemary was the youngest of six children in the O'Mara family. She spent her entire life in Lake Odessa, raising her family and contributing to the community she cherished.
In her early years, Rosemary helped on the family farm, raising Angus cattle and creating fond memories with her blind pony, Amos. Her life was rooted in Lake Odessa, where she was devoted to her family and community.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Emma O'Mara, her husband, Jim Hickey, grandson Hughe Haskins her siblings, Marie O'Mara, Thomas O'Mara, Lawrence O'Mara, and Pauline Hubbard, as well as her nephews, Mike O'Mara and Phil O'Mara, her niece, Susan Czonka, and in-laws, Mary O'Mara, Norma O'Mara, and Ken Hubbard.
She is survived by her children, Perry (Deborah) Hickey, Joe (Criss) Hickey, Kathleen Hickey, Bill (Violet) Hickey, and Mary Beth (Jim) Garofalo. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Becky (Mark) Gromala, Aaron (Megan) Hickey, David (Sarah) Hickey, Emma Hickey, Daniel Goodemoot, Liam (Emily) Hickey, Aidan (Katherine) Hickey, Bryan (Alison) Haskins, Matt (Alexis) Haskins, and Nick Haskins, as well as her great-grandchildren, Ian, Ethan, Claire, Carson, Wyatt, Sophia, Jameson, Evelyn, Brooklynn, Palmer, Ruthie, and Lee.
A cherished member of the community, Rosemary was known for her excellent cooking, especially her Salisbury Steak and Rosie's Rolls, which were enjoyed at many community meals. She was passionate about genealogy and was a devoted member of the Lake Odessa Historical Society and the Woodland Women's Study Club.
Rosemary was an active member of St. Edwards Catholic Church and the Jackson Mutchler VFW Post 4461. Her faithful and devoted spirit touched many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at Koops Funeral Chapel on Sunday, February 8th, 2026 from 1pm until 4pm with a Rosary held at 3:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Edwards Catholic Church on Monday, February 9th, 2026 at 11am with burial taking place at Lakeside Cemetery immediately following .
