Vivian was a very special lady. I first met her in 1990 when her daughter, Sandy, my best friend, took me over to her mom's house. I had only been living in Freeport for a few months, and found people to be a bit standoffish with newcomers. Not so with Vivian. She immediately welcomed me into her home, and treated me with love and kindness as if I were an old friend. She showed me ( and sold me...lol) some of her beautiful hand crafted earrings. Vivian made the most beautiful cakes, too, and was my go to person for my daughters' birthday cakes. She always made me feel welcome, and was always ready and willing for some good conversation. I hadn't seen Vivian in over 20 years at the time of her passing, but I can still see her warm smile and the twinkle in her kind, beautiful eyes. She will be dearly missed. I send my deepest and most sincere sympathies to Sandy, Clint, Peggy, and Isaiah and their families, as well as to Diane, Karen, Mike, Carol, Kathy and their families. I am so sorry that your Mom has passed, but also so grateful that she is out of the terrible pain she was in. I'm sorry for your loss. I still remember going to her home and show all my ideas how I'd like my wedding cake designed.  The cake was everything I requested and now it's 25 years later it's still special.  She made lily of the valley and violets in frosting; pure talent!  Thank you and RIP. I'll always remember your smile & your laugh, you welcomed me into your home and into your family at a time in my life when everything seemed so hard. I'll remember Sandy & I "helping" with your cakes and sitting in the back of the van hoping the cake we were delivering didn't fall. And I was truly honored when you offered to make my wedding cake, which of course turned out more beautiful then I could of imagined. I truly wish I could of got to MI to see you.
