William G. Nurenberg

William (Bill) G. Nurenberg After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Bill Nurenberg, age 77 of Lake Odessa, MI, went to be with The Lord on Saturday, August 31, 2013. At his home, Bill was surrounded by members of his family. He was born in Portland, MI, on February 10, 1936, to John and Catherine (Smith) Nurenberg. Bill was a dedicated worker who enjoyed farming, spending time with his family, purchasing instant lottery tickets, playing bingo and cards, and driving the back roads picking up returnable bottles and cans. Bill was drafted into the Army, serving two years. After returning he became employed by Fisher Body of Lansing, where he retired in 1994. Bill married Agatha Ann Smith on September 12, 1959, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Westphalia, MI. Together they raised four daughters, Barbara (Scott Stuck) Nurenberg, Annette (John) Fryover, Diane (Chris) Zinser, and Kathleen (Jason) Marvin and twelve sons, Patrick (Robin), Joseph, Daniel (Kim), Robert (Stacey), Richard (Julie), David (Manda), Mark (Lisa Jackson), Terry (Nicole), Scott, Brian (Carrie), Kurt (Kim Rager), and William (Andrea). Bill is survived by his wife and sixteen children along with twenty-eight grandchildren and four great- grandchildren. The following will be held at the St. Edward's Family Center, located at 531 Jordan Lake St., Lake Odessa, MI. Visitations: Tuesday, September 3rd 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. with Rosary Vigil at 7:00 and Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, September 4th at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Thomas Bufford presiding. Interment will take place at the West Sebewa Cemetery. Contributions in memory of Bill may be made to the St. Edwards Parish Foundation.
