

Rev. Daniel Mark Wood, 74, of West Palm Beach, Florida, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, August 20th, 2016. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on Saturday, March 7th, 1942 to Carl F. and June E. (Revilee) Wood.
Pastor Dan is preceded in death by his parents, June (Revilee) and Carl F Wood, two brothers, Tim Wood and David Wood, nephew Brent Wood, as well as his oldest daughter, Rachel Wood Merendino.
He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita (Nita) Wood, daughter, Rebecca (Chris) Boshers, son-in-law Bryan (Rachel) Merendino, grandsons Christian Gallina, Ethan Wood, Aidan von Loewe, and Charles Allen Boshers, as well as great-granddaughter Aurora Rayne Gallina, brother Steve (Barbara) Wood, brother-in-law John Arnold, nieces and nephews and many family and friends.
Pastor Dan was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, serving 51 years devoting his life to loving pastoral service and music and worship ministry. Pastor Dan attended Dayton Bible Institute. He graduated from Miami University of Ohio with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Secondary and Elementary Education with a double major in piano. He was an active participate in the Ohio District Council of the Assemblies of God, serving as presbyter for 18 years. His lead pastorates include Bethel Assembly of God, Perrysburg, Ohio, First Assembly of God, Lyndhurst, (Cleveland) Ohio, and Crossway Assembly of God in Galion, Ohio. Through his years of service, he facilitated Pastors Helping Pastors and became a mentor to many young ministers. He led the summer tours and directed the Ohio Teen Tempos, a choir composed of bright young musical talent within the denomination in the state of Ohio from which many have entered ministry and musical careers. He served on national committees for Youth and Christian Education within the General Council of the Assemblies of God International, writing articles for the respective periodicals. He was an avid, faithful fan of the Cleveland Browns NFL football team and was overjoyed by the championship won by the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA basketball team. Upon retirement he moved to Florida where he served in various capacities at Bethel Assembly of God, Lake Worth, for nine years under Pastors Michael and Christi Brummitt with an emphasis in music and worship as well as oversight of the senior adult ministries.
The Memorial Service for Pastor Dan was held Friday, August 26th, 2016 in Lake Worth, Florida. A Celebration of Life is also scheduled for Saturday, September 24th, 2016 at 3:00 pm at the First Assembly of God, 1370 Richmond Road, Lyndhurst, Ohio, 44214. Fellowship following the service with a time to share your love and support for Pastor Dan’s loving wife, Nita. The family is so appreciative of your loving support during this time of great grief, yet we do not mourn as those without hope.
