Trudy was born on July 22, 1927 in Orillia, Ontario, Canada to her parents Albert Earl and Annie Carter. Shortly thereafter her father obtained a ministerial degree and pastored several churches in Canada until she married. Ironically, 2 of the towns had the churches and their personage right across the street from her future husband, Roy and his family. During World War II Roy was commissioned in the Royal Canadian Air Force to England. Trudy went to business college and worked for the Canadian Legion, and volunteered as a nursing aide at the hospital caring for wounded soldiers. Roy returned from the war and in 1946 Roy and Trudy were married. They had their first child, Sharon in December 1947. Trudy's parents had taken a church in Georgia, USA. Roy and Trudy followed however the jobs were not plentiful. Roy's Aunt who lived in the Palm Beaches encouraged them to move to Florida. So they did and Roy had work. In 1952, their second child was born, James Robert Hanna. A couple of years later Trudy worked as a bookkeeper for ther Mercantile Dept. Store in downtown West Palm Beach. Later she applied for a job at the Clerk of Courts and that job required US Citizenship so the whole family became citizens. Later the Palm Beach County Tax Collector offered her a secretarial job so she worked there until she retired. In all she worked for the Clerk and Tax Collector for 33 years.
