

Jenny Goris Hackett of Wellington, FL passed away peacefully on May 31, 2017. Born August 12, 1921 in Antwerp, Belgium, daughter of the late August and Emma Goris, she previously lived in Madison, NJ, and Gouldsboro, PA, before moving to Florida in 1990. A graduate of the College of New Rochelle, she taught at Holy Family School in Florham Park, NJ, for 26 years before retiring in 1984. She was a former president of the Mothers Guild and the Rosary Society of St. Vincent Martyr Church in Madison. She was a member and served as Lector and Eucharistic Minister of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Lake Worth, FL, a member of the Council of Catholic Women and the Society of Saint Vincent De Paul. She was active in several parish ministries, and was the chairperson of retreats for St. Matthew women at Our Lady of Florida Spiritual Center in North Palm Beach, FL. She was predeceased by her husband William H. Hackett in 2015, and her brother, James Goris. She will be mourned by: son, Gerard F. Hackett of Lake Worth, FL; daughter, Theresa Cole (Harold) of Punta Gorda, FL; grandchildren, Katherine Hackett of Sarasota, FL, Jenny L. Hackett of West Palm Beach, FL, Suzanne Hughes (Ryan) of Haddon Twp., NJ, Stacey Cole of Baltimore, MD and Lori Harger Wiles of Lake Worth, FL; and many great-grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Jenny will also be missed by all the staff and Residents of Nu Vista Assisted Living, Wellington, FL, as well as her many friends at Saint Matthew Church in Lake
Worth, FL. Friends may visit from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Sunday, June 4th at the Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00am on Monday, June 5th at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 6090 Hypoluxo Road, Lake Worth, FL 33463.
